The Journées de l'Appareillage du Pied will be held on Thursday, March 14 and Friday, March 15, 2024 at the Grand Palais in Lille, France. They are organized by the Fédération Française des Podo-Orthésistes, the association of health professionals specialized in the care of foot problems.

On 31 January, the Pedorthic Association of Australia (PAA) received the profoundly disappointing news that the Department of Education, in consultation with the Department of Health, has approved Southern Cross University’s (SCU) request to close its Pedorthics and Podiatry programs.

On October 20 and 21, 2023, Cologne will once again become the worldwide center of pedorthics. While almost all suppliers of the industry will present themselves at the trade fair ORTHOPÄDIE SCHUH TECHNIK 2023, the congress will again offer the opportunity to bring one's own knowledge up to date and to learn about new approaches to pedorthic care.

What equipment do I need for my workshop, how can I best organize workflows and what do I need to consider when working with external service providers? These questions are dealt with in the current issue of foot&shoe.

The new foot&shoe issue is out, with a preview of ORTHOPÄDIE SCHUH TECHNIK in Cologne on October 20-21, 2023, news from the industry, and articles on the significance of new technologies in pedorthics. The new issue is available for free download on the foot&shoe website.

The new issue of foot&shoe reports on the latest developments in the industry and includes articles on the provision of sensorimotor insoles and new studies on diabetic foot syndrome. It can be downloaded free of charge from the foot&shoe website.

The new foot&shoe has been published with all the important information on the IVO Congress on October 24./25. 2024 in Fribourg, Switzerland, and articles on diabetes, custom-made orthopaedic shoes and design concepts for assistive devices. The issue can be downloaded free of charge.

The next issue of foot&shoe will be published on March 16, 2021 with topics and dates from the pedorthic industry.

New technologies have a firm place in pedorthics today. Experts expect their share in the production of individual aids for the foot to increase even further in the future. This is shown by a survey among members of the International Association of Orthopaedic Footwear Technicians (IVO).

On October 20/21, 2023, the gates will open again for ORTHOPÄDIE SCHUH TECHNIK - International Trade Fair and Congress. After being postponed from 2021 to 2022 due to the Corona pandemic, the event will return to its normal biennial schedule in 2023. This year's focus will be on concepts for orthopedic footwear businesses and expanding knowledge about human movement and the therapeutic approach to foot problems.

2022 will be a special trade fair year for pedorthics: The whole industry waits in the wings to finally meet again in person on 14 and 15 October 2022, after the postponement the year before. After 22 years, the IVO World Congress will take place in Germany again. A highlight that will beckon many international visitors to Cologne.

The Pedorthic Association of Australia invites to its national Pedorthic Conference 2023 from 12^th – 14^th October 2023. The venue will be the Esplanade Hotel in Walyalup –Fremantle, Western Australia’s historic port city. Visitors can expect a high quality conference program and a pre-conference program with several workshops.

The Pedorthics program at Southern Cross University (SCU), Australia, which was launched only a few years ago, is to be discontinued under the university's current plans. The Pedorthic Association of Australia (PAA) is seeking support to preserve this important program for the education and advancement of the profession.

The Pedorthic Association of Canada’s annual aymposium, April 13-15, 2023, in Niagara Falls is an educational event known internationally for bringing together some of the best keynote, plenary and workshop speakers from around the world. In addition to high quality presentations, the Symposium features a tradeshow with 60+ exhibit booths.

Sayed Ahmed, PhD Candidate and Certified Pedorthist Custom Maker from Australia, has a research project accepted in the first round of the Australian National Industry PhD program in collaboration with Charles Sturt University and Foot Balance Technology.

On 2nd February 2024, the graduation ceremony for the first PhD in Pedorthics took place at a graduation event of Southern Cross University at the Gold Coast. Sayed Ahmed graduated with the first Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree as a Pedorthist in Australia.
