 Olav Toornend has been president of the International Association of Orthopaedic Footwear Technicians (IVO) since October 2021. We asked him about his expectations regarding the IVO Congress in Cologne on October 14-15, 2022.

"Analyzing, understanding, providing" and "My company - my future" are the main topics of the ORTHOPÄDIE SCHUH TECHNIK congress on October 20 and 21, 2023 in Cologne. The question that unites both topics is: With which competencies and concepts will I be successful with my business in the future?

After the success of Clermont-Ferrand in December 2021, the FFPO (La Fédération Française des Podo-Orthésistes) will be holding its conference on March 14/15,2024 in the Grand Palais in Lille. The main themes will be cerebral palsy and CMT equipment.

On October 24 and 25, the Swiss Association for Prosthetics and Orthotics and the Swiss Foot and Shoe Association will host the congress of the International Pedorthic Association. The congress at the Forum Fribourg will also celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Swiss Foot and Shoe Association.

Practical, international and interdisciplinary: From 14 to 17 May, the world congress at OTWorld will be setting the scene for global knowledge transfer in the prosthetics and orthotics industry. The congress programme will offer a wide range of further education opportunities for all professional groups working at the interface between people and technology.

The Pedorthic Association of Australia (PAA) invites its members, the wider foot related network and allied health colleagues to the first face-to-face PAA conference since their pre-pandemic event in 2019.

The Pedorthics program at Southern Cross University (SCU), Australia, which was launched only a few years ago, is to be discontinued under the university's current plans. In 2010 the Pedorthic Association of Canada (PAC) for the first time expressed its desire to draw up practical clinical guidelines. They were supposed to assist the members in the treatment of their patients and to standardize the treatment process, but they were also supposed to enable a dialogue with the public, other health professions and political decision makers on pedorthic foot care.

This year’s PAC Symposium is being held on April 11-13, 2024 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. More than 200 Pedorthists and healthcare professionals with a keen interest in the assessment and treatment of the lower limbs and feet are expected to be in attendance.

The 16^th IVO Japan congress in Fukuoka was successfully held on 25 and 26 January with more than 240 participants.
