Symposiusm Pedorthic Association of Australia
September 1.-2., 2017, Surfers Paradise, Australia
Pedorthics – Striding Ahead is the motto of the symposium of the Pedorthic Association of Australia. The symposium will take place in Surfers Paradise, Queensland, on September 1st and 2nd. The symposium will be followed by a one day workshop about the prevention of diabetic foot ulcers from a pedorthic perspective on September 3rd. The venue for the workshop will be the pedorthic lab of the Southern Cross University.
4. ORTHOPÄDIE SCHUH TECHNIK
20 – 21 October, Cologne, Germany
On 21/22 October 2017 the 4. ORTHOPÄDIE SCHUH TECHNIK – International Trade Fair and Congress will open its doors in Cologne. The 2017 edition will see around 170 exhibitors, covering all aspects of pedorthics. The congress will again feature workshops, lectures and seminars and will offer attendees an overview of state of the art treatment as well as numerous stimuli for the further development of pedorthic concepts.
IVO Congress 2018
April 13 to 14, 2018, Toronto, Canada
The Pedorthic Association of Canada (PAC) will be hosting the IVO Congress 2018 in Toronto, Canada. Toronto is the most populous city in Canada, the provincial capital of Ontario, and the center of the Greater Toronto Area, the most populous metropolitan area in Canada.
Toronto is an international center of business, finance, arts, and culture, and is widely recognized as one of the most multicultural and cosmopolitan cities in the world. With its numerous museums and galleries, festivals and public events, entertainment districts, national historic sites, and sports activities, Toronto offers many key attractions to the over 25 million tourists that visit the city each year.
Alongside the city’s attractive ambiance and its proximity to many other tourist attractions, the city’s good accessibility tipped the tables in its favor, explained PAC Managing Director Jonathan Strauss, when asked why Toronto won the venue bid. Numerous countries have direct flights to Toronto, which makes it easy for the congress attendees to travel to and from the venue.
Call for abstracts
The planning committee is seeking presentations for the IVO World Congress 2018 that would correspond to these topics: Business development and business technology, new research for common pedorthic issues from around the world, orthotic technology, advanced shoe and orthotic designs, sport specific advancements from around the world (i.e. cycling, skiing), treatment of specific conditions (i.e. diabetes), development in gait analysis, assessment theories, specific pathologies or limitations. Deadline for submissions is June 1, 2017.
OT World 2018
15 -18 May 2018 in Leipzig, Germany
Every two years, OTWorld brings together, in Leipzig, national and international partners from industry, the wholesale and retail trades, the scientific community and service providers, as well as the various disciplines involved as part of the rehabilitation team in the treatment of patients. Abstracts for the scientific programme of the World Congress may be submitted up until 17 September 2017, using the online form.
The Programme Committee for the World Congress once again invites the submission of abstracts for free contributions to OTWorld 2018. Both scientific and practical contributions are welcome, as are descriptions of case studies and case-based examples. Contributions should relate to one or other of the following areas: prosthetics, orthotics, foot and shoe/orthopaedic shoe technology, rehabilitation, rehabilitation technology, sport/sports medicine, trauma rehabilitation, open topics.
